Google has already confirmed that it will unveil new Pixel smartphones at its next 'Made by Google' launch event.

The Google Pixel 9 series is set to launch in India a day after the global "Made by Google" hardware event. This flagship lineup is expected to feature four models, including the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which have been teased as successors to last year's Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Fold, respectively. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be Google's first foldable device available in the Indian market.

Pixel 9 Series to Debut in India via Flipkart

Flipkart has launched a dedicated microsite to tease the arrival of the Pixel 9 series in India, with the official launch scheduled for August 14. Although the listing mentions the Pixel 9 series in general, the promotional materials highlight the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Pixel 9 Pro models. The phones will be available for purchase on Flipkart, which has been selected as the exclusive retail partner for Google's latest launch, continuing the trend from previous smartphone releases.

Google’s "Made by Google" event will take place on August 13 in global markets, including the US, where the company will unveil the new Pixel devices. Pricing and availability details for India are expected to be revealed on August 14. In addition to the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the lineup is anticipated to include the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL models. 

The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are now listed on Google's India website, where users can sign up to receive the latest updates on these upcoming devices and their availability.

The launch of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in India will introduce Google's foldable phone to the country for the first time. Previously, Google's first foldable device, the Pixel Fold, was available only in select global markets. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will compete in India against other foldables like Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6, OnePlus Open, and Tecno Phantom V Fold. 

Specifications for Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold

The Pixel 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display and come equipped with 16GB of RAM. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is anticipated to include a 6.3-inch cover screen, an 8-inch main display, and also 16GB of RAM. Both models are likely to be powered by the new Tensor G4 chip.

The Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to have a triple rear camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor and two 48-megapixel sensors. For selfies, it is said to sport a 42-megapixel front camera. Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold might come with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 10.5-megapixel sensor, and a 10.8-megapixel sensor. It is also expected to include a 10-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
